F.A.Q
How far in advance should I book my move?
We recommend booking your move as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time, especially during busy periods.
- Regular Moves: Booking 2–4 weeks in advance is usually sufficient for most moves.
- Peak Seasons (June 20 to July 2): During busier times, such as summer and the end of June (around July 1 in Quebec), we suggest booking 8–10 weeks in advance to ensure availability.
- Last-Minute Moves: If you need to move on short notice, contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule!
How do you calculate moving costs?
We keep our pricing clear and straightforward to fit your needs and budget. You’ll receive transparent, competitive rates with no hidden fees.
- Local, Residential, and Commercial Moves (including Packing): We charge by the hour, based on the truck’s size and the number of movers required for your move.
- Long-Distance Moves: For these moves, we offer a flat-rate price tailored to the details of your specific needs.
Do you sell boxes and moving materials?
At Movers Group, we follow strict safety guidelines and Quebec regulations to ensure your move goes smoothly. Here are the items we cannot transport:
- Hazardous Materials: Items like propane tanks, gasoline, fireworks, chemicals, and paint are prohibited due to safety risks and legal restrictions.
- Perishable Foods: Foods that can spoil during transport can cause hygiene issues and attract pests. We recommend using them up or donating them before your move.
- Valuables: For your security, we suggest you transport valuables such as jewelry, passports, cash, and important documents.
- Firearms and Ammunition: These require specific legal procedures under Quebec and Canadian laws, so we are unable to transport them.
What items are restricted or non-transportable?
At Movers Group, we follow strict safety guidelines and Quebec regulations to ensure your move goes smoothly. Here are the items we cannot transport:

Should I empty my drawers?
Yes, we recommend emptying your drawers before the move.
- Safety: Empty drawers reduce the risk of damage to furniture or injury to movers.
- Weight: Furniture becomes lighter and easier to handle.
- Preventing Spills or Damage: Loose items can shift, spill, or cause scratches.
- Efficiency: Empty drawers streamline the moving process and prevent anything from being left behind.
How do you handle loss or damage?
We take great care in handling your belongings and are fully insured with comprehensive cargo and liability coverage through Northbridge Insurance Canada. While we strive to ensure every move is damage-free, accidents can occasionally occur, and we cannot guarantee the complete avoidance of damage.
If an item or any part of your home is damaged during the move, we will make every effort to repair it, except for items specifically excluded from coverage. If repair is not possible, we will work with you to negotiate a fair compensation.
Should a claim be necessary, we offer a simple and efficient claims process. Claims are typically processed within 2–4 weeks, providing a timely resolution for your concerns.
Do you offer packing services?

How should I prepare my appliances and large items?
Proper preparation of your appliances and large items ensures a smooth and damage-free move. Here are some tips:
- Refrigerators and Freezers: Empty them, defrost them at least 24 hours before the move, and secure all loose shelves or drawers. If storing, place an item like cardboard between the door to allow airflow and prevent mold.
- Washing Machines and Dryers: Disconnect and drain all water hoses. For washing machines, secure the drum with manufacturer-recommended transit bolts.
- Stoves and Ovens: Clean thoroughly to remove grease or food residue. Disconnect any gas lines and ensure safety caps are in place.
- Dishwashers: Drain and disconnect water hoses. Professional disconnection and reconnection are recommended to avoid potential damage.
- Large Furniture: Empty drawers, secure loose parts, and disassemble items like beds and tables if possible.
- Electronics and TVs: Pack flat-screen TVs in original or specialty boxes. Secure cords and accessories in labeled bags.
